Folding Shutter

For many years Hunter Douglas has built folding shutters in projects as manual or motorized sun control solution. Folding shutters give a strong dynamic effect to a building by radically changing the facade from a closed, monolithic volume to an open, transparant envelope. The panels fold away from the façade, literally creating an extra dimension that makes this transformation even more dramatic. /

With these years of experience Hunter Douglas has also been able to achieve an important technical feat: a motorized folding shutter that will close completely flat. A specially engineered clever hinge mechanism operated by a compact linear actuator enables the shutter to meet the logical expectation of user and architect to fold away completely in the façade surface.

HunterDouglas® Folding Shutters are typically built in aluminium with either fixed louvre fins or a perforated aluminium sheet panel, but can also be provided with any custom material. This allows a complete integration in the surrounding façade. Shutter width can vary from 530 to 900 mm and shutter height can be up to 3100 mm, depending on situation and wind load.

Sliding Shutters

p>Hunter Douglas Sliding Shutters provide architects with multiple options to create unique exteriors while maximising solar control and occupant privacy. With three types of frames, five types of fins and a fixed or adjustable system there is a Sliding Shutter to suit any project design , with a finish which is either an anodised finish or polyester powder coating. With manual or motorised options, the system also offers maximum flexibility for adjustment in easy-to-reach as well as out-of the way spaces or when overall building management is required. Hunter Douglas Sliding Shutters allow easy and quick installation with very few tools as standard shutters arrive preassembled. Multiple rail fixtures are available, permitting the rail system to be fixed to either the façade or between floors depending on the project requirements. Once the rail system has been fitted, the top runners slide into the rails and the shutters are positioned and fitted to the runners. End stops are used to mark the end position of the shutter. Because great looks are not enough, Hunter Douglas has developed computer simulation and calculation tools to ensure optimal shading performance. Considering location, building orientation, pre-defined building requirements and local weather data, our project support team can analyse and custom-optimise the Sun Control System for each project.


LIGHT AND ENERGY TOOL
The Hunter Douglas engineers calculate optimal solar shading solutions using the Hunter Douglas Light and Energy tool. The tool can demonstrate the effects of a range of shading solutions for the building and its occupants. By analysing this data a complete solution can be developed to meet all the specified building performance criteria for a project. The results and recommendations from the Light and Energy Tool presented in a report can be added to the building specifications, ensuring that all criteria are fully met

HunterDouglas Panel Systems within the Sun Louvre product range, give architects the freedom to choose the right system to meet aesthetic, performance and comfort criteria.

Create an elegant, light appearance with gently curved edges with aluminium rollformed panels 84R, 70S and 132S. For designs with a more defined look, extruded aluminium panels 100R and 110HC are the ideal choice.

Almost all HunterDouglas Panel Systems can be mounted on the same substructure and projected horizontally, vertically or angled.
